Transverse Momentum Transfer and Low x Parton Dynamics at HERA
The transverse momentum transfer correlation is introduced as a sensitive probe that can be used to discrimate between models for parton dynamics in low-x deep-inelastic scattering. Expectations for uncorrelated models and models with short-range or long-range correlations are discussed and confronted to results obtained from the Lepto and Ariadne Monte Carlo simulation programmes.
متن کاملProbing the Nucleon at Large Momentum Transfer
The central role of soft nucleon matrix elements in reactions of high energy electrons or real photons with nucleons is emphasized. These soft matrix elements are described in terms of skewed parton distributions. Their connections to ordinary parton distributions, form factors, Compton scattering and hard meson electroproduction is discussed.
متن کاملElectromagnetic Form Factors at Large Momentum Transfer
Recent improvements of the hard scattering picture for the large p⊥ behaviour of electromagnetic form factors, namely the inclusion of both Sudakov corrections and intrinsic transverse momentum dependence of the hadronic wave function, are reviewed. On account of these improvements the perturbative contributions to the pion’s and the nucleon’s form factor can be calculated in a theoretically se...
متن کاملDynamics of quantum liquids at high momentum.
The dynamic form factor S(Q, co) in liquid He and He is evaluated in the wave-vector transfer o ] range 3&Q &15 A . The input is the pair interatomic potential, developed by Aziz et al. The S(Q, to) is calculated within the random-phase approximation (RPA) which becomes valid when RQ is much larger than the average momentum in the liquid. A T-matrix approximation represents the interaction appe...
متن کاملMomentum Transfer Dynamics of a Gyrostat With a Discrete Damper1
The stability of motion of attitude maneuvers of a torque-free rigid gyrostat with a discrete damper is investigated. The equations of motion are presented and non-dimensionalized, then rewritten as a singularly perturbed, noncanonical, Hamiltonian system. Conditions for equilibrium motions and for their stability are developed. Bifurcation diagrams are used to illustrate the stable and unstabl...
